Privacy Policy

Khagol is built to be private by default and to collect as little as possible. This policy explains what we handle and why.

Birth data

The birth details you enter (date, time, place) are sent to our server to compute your chart and are not stored by default — once the chart is returned to your browser, that input is gone from our servers. If you choose to save a chart to an account, that chart's birth data is stored to your account so you can return to it, and you can delete it at any time.

Accounts and email

You can use the core tools with no account at all. If you sign in, we use a passwordless email link — we store your email address, sign-in tokens, and your plan status. We use your email only to sign you in and to send updates you asked for. You can unsubscribe from any email with one click.

AI features

If you use an AI feature, the computed facts of your selected chart and the relevant cited verses are sent to an AI provider to generate the answer; for a follow-up question, the recent messages of that conversation are also included so the reply stays in context. Your chart is recomputed on our server for this — we do not let the AI invent positions — your conversations are not stored on our servers, and your data is not used to train any model.

Payments

Paid plans and reports, when you buy them, are processed by a third-party payment provider acting as merchant of record. They handle the transaction and applicable taxes; we receive confirmation of your plan but never see or store your full card details.

Search and place lookups

Searches on the classical-text library are processed to find relevant verses and are not retained beyond standard server logs, nor used to train any model. Place-name lookups are forwarded to a geocoding service to resolve a city to coordinates.

What we do not do

No tracking cookies, no advertising trackers, no fingerprinting, and no cross-site tracking or profiling. For basic, aggregate traffic measurement we use a privacy-first, cookieless analytics tool (Cloudflare Web Analytics) that counts page views without identifying you or following you across other sites. We do not sell or share your email or personal data with anyone for their own use.

Service providers

To run the service we rely on a few external providers, each used only for its purpose: hosting and DNS (which sees your IP when you visit), a search-embedding service for the text library, an email-delivery service, a geocoding service, an AI provider for optional AI features, and a payment provider for optional purchases.

Your rights

You can unsubscribe from emails at any time, and ask us to delete your account and any saved charts — reply to any Khagol email or use the contact page. Since charts are not stored unless you save them, there is otherwise nothing to delete.
